What Goes Into a Pool Cover System?
Closing down a pool for the off-season, or keeping it covered year-round, takes more than just the cover itself. The right accessories are what hold the whole system together, literally. At Keder Solutions®, we supply a full lineup of pool cover accessories designed for both residential and commercial applications, whether you’re working with solid or mesh surface covers, above ground or inground pools.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s available and how each piece fits into a complete pool cover system.
Anchors
The Foundation of a Secure Pool Cover
The pool cover anchor is the most critical component of any setup. It’s what keeps the cover locked in place through wind, rain, snow, and everything else the off-season can throw at it.
Keder Solutions® offers two brass anchor options designed to fit the most common deck types:
Both anchors are made from high-quality brass, which offers excellent corrosion resistance, an important consideration in wet, chlorinated pool environments.

Springs
Tension, Flexibility, and Durability
Pool cover springs are what connect the cover to the anchors and maintain the right amount of tension across the surface. Keder Solutions® offers stainless steel springs in multiple configurations so you can match the right spring to your specific application.
Hardware
Grommets, Webbing, and the Supporting Hardware
A complete system relies on more than anchors and springs. These supporting components round out the setup:
- Grommets: Reinforced openings in the cover fabric that provide secure attachment points for springs and straps. Grommets take the tension load so the cover material itself doesn’t tear or degrade over time.
- Webbing Strap: Heavy-duty webbing that connects the cover to the anchor and spring system. Keder Solutions® webbing is built to handle the tension demands of a properly secured cover.
- Coated Steel Wire: Used in certain pool cover configurations as a tensioning element. The coating provides protection against moisture and corrosion.
- Steel Bar Buckle: A hardware piece used to connect and adjust webbing straps with a secure, reliable hold.
- Ground Anchor Tube: Installed in the ground to create an anchor point in areas where deck anchors aren’t an option. This is particularly useful for pools with surrounding lawn or landscaping rather than a solid deck perimeter.
Solid vs. Mesh Covers
Does It Change the Accessories You Need?
In most cases, the core hardware (anchors, springs, webbing) is the same regardless of whether you’re working with a solid or mesh cover. The main difference comes down to the cover material itself and how the attachment points are configured. Keder Solutions® carries accessories that work with both cover types, and if you’re not sure what you need for a specific project, our team is ready to help you work through it.
